Catherine Casalino is the founder and creative director of Casalino Design, a New York City-based independent creative studio. Casalino Design specializes in bold, conceptual creative direction and design for books and branding.
Catherine has created work for such notable clients as: Penguin Random House, IBM, Stephen King, A+E Networks, Simon & Schuster, The New York Times, HarperCollins, Scribd.com, Spectrum News, P.S. 11 New York City, The Santa Fe International Literary Festival, Forerunner Ventures, Lady Gaga, and the Oscar-winning film, American Fiction.
Prior to founding Casalino Design in 2016, Catherine worked in-house as an art director and designer at Simon & Schuster, Random House, and Hachette Book Group, and she began her career at Rodrigo Corral Design.
Over the past two plus decades, Catherine’s work has been recognized by numerous international design organizations and publications. She has served as a competition chair and jury member for The Type Directors Club, The One Club for Creativity, The Art Directors Club, Young Ones, and the Association of American University Presses.
She frequently speaks about creativity and design at schools and arts organizations, is an instructor on Domestika.com, and has served as as a mentor for Alphabettes—a community that supports women in type.
